Downtime

Our Testing and Tagging service aims to minimise your downtime as much as possible, and for a regular workstation (PC,screen, 4 cables) the technician will have inspected and tested all equipment within 5-15 minutes, this time depends on how easy all equipment is able to be accessed, so any furniture or computer desks are asked to be moved (eg from against the wall) to allow access to all cables behind desks and so forth. Off-street parking is also required for the technician. We have fully qualified technicians who can repair your faulty instruments in our Sydney office and minimise your downtime as much as possible

Why test and tag?

A Hostile working environment is one that has electrical instruments being subjected to conditions that are likely to result in damage to the instrument (such as regular wear and tear) and/or an environment that involves moisture, heat, vibration, corrosion or dust coming into contact with the electrical instruments. These environments MUST be tested and tagged under AS/NZ3760, Workcover perform routine checks of hostile environments to ensure that electrical testing and tagging has been performed. A typical office is classified as a "non-hostile" environment. Testing is not mandatory under the standard however according to Workcover and OH&S Regulation 2001 clause 64 it states that you must perform routine inspections on your electrical instruments to maintain workplace safety and comply with OH&S risk management. Electrical testing and tagging is a reliable and accurate method of ensuring all your instruments are professionally inspected, according to the standard you only need these items inspected every 5 years, so it is well worth getting your items tested whilst you have a technician on site.

Insurance/Workcover

Electrical safety testing and tagging is very important as it can prevent costly downtime at work due to injury or accident by possibly finding faults before they become hazardous. Many businesses now see this as a requirement of their duty of care towards their employees. Testing and tagging also rules out areas for insurance companies to have concerns regarding any claims relating to problems caused through non tested equipment. Workcover routinely inspect for electrical safety checks in hostile environments and are also very aware of this when employees suffer workplace injuries due to electrical faults, heavy fines may result from non-compliance
